The German Influence in the Saginaw Valley (357)
This three-part series of local history will cover: German immigration into the Saginaw Valley; German cultural activities and influence; and German businesses and industries from the mid-1800s to the 1910s. Bavarian Germans were recruited to settle in mid-Michigan. They were instrumental in building towns and establishing cultural organizations, churches, and businesses. Roselynn Ederer, author of 11 books of local history, will discuss these German influences and contributions in the Saginaw Valley from her Building a Michigan Lumber Town series. All books will be available for purchase during the sessions.
