Philosophy and History of God  (349)

After studying “The History of God” by Armstrong, the “Philosophy of Religion” by Hall, reviewing the monotheistic faiths and completing overviews of the eastern religions, we will circle back and look at God through the lens of the newly developing science of evolutionary psychology.  This will help us integrate our study of the history of the various religious traditions from the perch of human development.  We will, as in our first class, format this class as a discussion (no DVDs) using the recently published book “The Evolution of God” by Robert Wright. Our first session will cover section one of the book and the following four sessions will cover the next four sections. Previous class attendance is not required to enjoy the lively discussion.  The class will be led by OLLI member Ron Taylor.
